MEET CINZIA NARDINOCCHI
Cinzia Nardinocchi: mother, family counselor and coach!
I am Cinzia, I am a couple and family consultant, in short family consultant. Since I was a little girl I have served and continue to serve in my Parish as a catechist, choir member, liturgical preparation, parish and accounting committee.
I graduated as an Accounting Analyst and worked as an accountant (suppliers-representatives) for nine years in a private company.
Meanwhile, I had 3 daughters and decided to leave my work as an accountant to dedicate myself full-time to my family.
In 2014, I resumed my studies and I obtained the Family Counselor diploma after 3 years, in 2017. I did an internship soon afterwards and took the exam to become a member of the Association of Marital and Family Consultants (A.I.C.C.e F.) in 2019. Ever since, I have been working and doing volunteering at the diocesan listening center "The joy of love" in Teramo, Italy.
I'm a professional socio-educational expert in the helping relationship. Through listening and specific methodologies (empathy, unconditional acceptance and positive consideration, non-judgment etc.), I help, support, accompany the individual, couple or family in discomfort, difficulties, suffering, mourning or choices. I do not give advice, but I facilitate the activation of the client's internal and external resources so that he can achieve one autonomous and responsible choice that can help him in relational dynamics.
I am a strong advocate for the Humanistic, Person-Centered Therapy which has been succesfully guiding my profession from the get-go. Watch this short video of Carl Rodgers, founder of the humanistic, person-centered approach.
Satisfaction is what I feel when and I see the beauty of my work by looking at the face of my clients who arrive at the first interview with an edgy weight and they leave with a smile. As a matter of fact, they feel lighter after sharing their experiences: they feel understood and listened to.
My clients' feedback?
Here I feel in a protected place, free to express myself and say that too that I would never have told anyone. The most beautiful words we use in this profession? Listen to yourself, what would you do? What do you want ? How are you? This is a profession that was in my blood. For years, I said to myself: "Is there anyone who listens to me and asks me what I would like?".
